About the Opportunity

Ambassador Group completed this search for a high-end residential and boutique commercial general contractor in Northern California. The firm is small enough to keep a highly collaborative culture and personalized client relationships, and experienced enough to manage complex, high-value projects such as luxury estates and historic commercial builds. Leadership works closely with employees, clients, and subcontractors every day, promotes from within where possible, and was investing in systems improvements and employee development as the company scaled.

Role Summary

The Project Manager takes full ownership of luxury residential and boutique commercial projects, reports directly to company leadership, and serves as the go-to leader for preconstruction support, project execution, financial performance, and quality control from start to finish. Travel between jobsites is required, and there is a path to broader leadership roles as the company grows.

Key Outcomes
  • Projects are delivered from preconstruction to closeout with budgets, schedules, client communications, and quality control owned with full accountability.
  • Subcontractor procurement, scope leveling, contract management, and milestone scheduling are handled in step with the estimating and field teams.
  • Clients and design teams have a trusted primary point of contact, with well-led project meetings and proactive communication.
  • Document control and cost management hold up through the project, with RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and budget updates managed in Procore.
  • Construction issues are resolved with a solution-oriented approach, working closely with Superintendents and the General Superintendent to drive field execution.
What You'll Bring

  • Strong proficiency with Procore, MS Project, and Excel-based estimating tools.
  • Hands-on, full-cycle project management experience, including preconstruction participation.
  • Familiarity with luxury client expectations and high-touch project delivery methods.
  • Experience managing complex, historic, or architecturally significant projects is an added strength.
  • An ownership mentality, high emotional intelligence, a builder-first passion for craftsmanship, and a proactive, growth-oriented approach to problem solving.
