Manhattan Plumbing & Heating (MPH) is seeking a Financial Controller / Accounting Manager to lead the company’s growing accounting function and strengthen the financial backbone of a $20M+ construction and service operation in the Gallatin Valley. This high-impact role is ideal for a systems-minded accounting leader who excels at creating clarity, elevating processes, and partnering with ownership to drive informed decision-making. The selected candidate will oversee a capable team, steward an advanced Sage 100 environment, and shape the financial structure that supports MPH’s next decade of growth.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Own month-end close with accuracy, consistency, and full GL integrity
✅ Strengthen coding discipline, reconciliations, overhead structure, and account architecture
✅ Improve job-costing accuracy and maintain Sage 100 labor codes, cost buckets, and reporting flows
✅ Deliver clear monthly financials with actionable commentary for ownership
✅ Manage cash flow, banking activity, and LOC cycles with predictability
✅ Lead and develop a small accounting/admin team with SOPs, cross-training, and defined workflows
✅ Partner with field and office teams to ensure accurate, consistent system use

Hard Skills

✔ Strong accounting background in construction, trades, service, or other job-costing environments
✔ Advanced GL ownership, reconciliations, and month-end process leadership
✔ ERP fluency — Sage 100 preferred; comparable systems welcome
✔ Proven experience improving financial processes, reporting structure, and data accuracy
✔ Understanding of job costing, margin drivers, overhead allocation, and financial analysis
